The Front End Development Manager will be a key player in our organization, responsible for leading and guiding a team of developers to deliver high-quality websites. In this management role, the manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project execution. As a Development Manager you will…
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and facilitate professional growth within the team.
- Oversee the end-to-end development process, including project planning, scope definition, resource allocation, timeline management, and successful product delivery.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the development team, ensuring best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles are followed.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure alignment between development and business goals.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality, bug-free websites through code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous improvement of development processes.
- Encourage a culture of innovation, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and driving the adoption of new tools and techniques to enhance development efficiency.
- Monitor the performance of development projects, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategies to optimize development processes and enhance productivity.
- Facilitate resolution of technical challenges and roadblocks, encouraging the team to find creative and effective solutions.
- Manage developer workload and resource allocation to ensure optimal productivity and project delivery within set timelines.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between development teams, promoting knowledge sharing and leveraging expertise across the organization.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years at an agency, with solid software development, and an understanding of software engineering principles and practices.
- Previous experience in a managerial or team lead role, demonstrating exceptional leadership and people management skills.
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in building sites with WordPress, specifically the Block Editor.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills, with a focus on delivering scalable and efficient solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the development of scalable web applications, mobile apps, or cloud-based solutions.
- Familiarity with software security principles and best practices.
- Contributions to open-source projects or relevant technical community involvement.
