Project Overview
The Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (VLACS) is a respected provider of customized education at all levels, from kindergarten through adult education. Despite being known as an innovator in virtual learning, they came to Vital with a website that was dated and difficult to navigate. We worked with them to accomplish three main goals: Incorporate fresh branding to showcase VLACS as a leader in the industry, simplify navigation and messaging for prospective students and parents, and provide an easy-to-use platform for existing students — especially on mobile devices.
A+ Execution
The new VLACS website needed to be engaging, user-friendly, and easy to administrate. With that in mind, we designed and developed a site that will serve as an engine for new student inquiries and enrollments, while fully supporting an excellent experience for existing students through features such as a revamped Learning Catalog that is both easy to navigate and easy to update on the backend.
A Friendly Face for All Users
VLACS needed their new site to feel like a welcoming home for both prospective and existing students and their families. We helped develop a warm brand voice through copywriting, and reinforced this personality by creating a new mascot, Skyler the owl. Skyler appears throughout the site along with helpful tips and information to guide students through the enrollment process, answer questions, and solidify the VLACS brand.

The end result of our engagement with VLACS is a user-friendly site that’s just as easy to update and administer as it is to navigate, ensuring that the client’s investment will stand the test of time. Existing students and parents can use the site to manage day-to-day activities, view school calendars, access portals, and register for classes — and it serves as the foundation for VLACS’ ongoing digital marketing, positioning the team to crush their goals for growing enrollment, building community partnerships, and more.
