Eggshell with Romalian type.
What do you think?

Look at that subtle off-white coloring.
The tasteful thickness of it.
Oh my God. It even has a watermark.

Business cards are not extinct; they’ve evolved. No longer do you need to cram every single piece of contact information on a 3 x 5 piece of cardstock. Here are five considerations for your next business card.

1.  A business card is a statement that represents your brand and should be thoughtfully designed. Its design should reinforce the connection that someone has made with your brand– a  connection that will be strengthened when that person looks at your card again.

2.  A business card should have a clear call to action driving people to connect and convert. Tell people what to do with the information and the card… Unless you want them to throw it away or bury it in a pile of other cards.

3. When someone holds your card it should feel unique, as if it has value, not something forgettable, but something to come back to again. Stop printing your card on cheap cardstock. Please. This card is a tool used during a first impression. Treat it as such.

4. Clear out any unnecessary information. Remember that call to action? That’s it, one CTA and how you want to be contacted. Your website is where you can put links to the fourteen social media networks you’re on, fax, emails, etc… not your business card.

5. A business card represents your brand and your time, so stop handing it out like candy. People will thank you. Heck, environmentalists will thank you too. Let your business card be desired, but only given to a few. Remember your card is a direct link to you and your time.

Ready to take the next step? Is something wrong? …you’re sweating.
