Vital Honored with Eight WebAwards for Client Web Design

2020-website-award-winner

This year has brought incredible, unforeseen challenges, but thankfully there is an occasional bright spot. Today, we are pleased to share some “good news” about industry recognition for some outstanding work we have done with our clients.

We’re proud of our work partnering with amazing clients to create beautiful, functional websites that help them thrive. And our talented team is among the best in the business at this. So it’s always nice to see that hard work validated.

That said, we are happy to announce that judges at the 2020 WebAwards have honored eight of our client websites — even naming five of them the best in their respective industries. Woohoo!

To give you a little background, WebAwards is the longest running annual website award competition produced by the Web Marketing Association, a nonprofit organization focused on setting the standard of excellence for internet marketing.

Each submission is judged by a panel of industry experts on seven different criteria:

  • Design
  • Innovation
  • Content
  • Interactivity
  • Technology
  • Copywriting
  • Ease of use

Then, the submission is ranked against all other industry websites for a total score up to 70 points. Top-scoring websites also receive a chance to win one of three distinguished titles: Best Website, Outstanding Website, or Standard of Excellence.

So, without further ado, check out our 2020 WebAward-winning websites!

Best Website
(These websites scored the highest in their respective industry. Side note: This year, five of our clients’ websites scored in this category compared to just one last year!)

Outstanding Website
(An award given to a few elite websites in each industry.)

Standard of Excellence
(Special recognition for top-ranking websites in their industry!)

PLT Health

Explore the website

PLT Health discovers, develops, and markets high-quality ingredient health solutions. Their new website needed a powerful customer-facing image, enhanced lead generation tactics, and increased visibility to attract prospective global partners.

We accomplished their goals by reworking their brand positioning, creating video and image assets, and of course, creating a new website that easily and intuitively allows users to find their products by filtering for ingredient and need. We developed a product ingredient template for PLT, which allows unique design elements that they can continue to customize as they add products.

“From website creativity to user experience and rich media development, Vital has become our partner in developing our digital corporate footprint,” said Charlotte “Ami” Yi-Kochoa, Marketing Manager for PLT Health. “Vital’s creative, website team, and digital analytics teams are top notch.”

OCR World Championships

Explore the website

OCRWC is an event-driven website for the OCR World Championships, the only independent global championships for the sport of Obstacle Course Racing.

The old website lacked storytelling and buried key race details, so we made sure the new website made athletes the focal point in the imagery and user experience. Since participants and families travel internationally, the content needed to be very clear and informative. The new website elevates important logistics like the schedule, spectator directions and accommodations, sponsorship details, and qualifying information. Fun elements, like a countdown ticker to the next World Championship event, help build excitement. The bold imagery and animation reflect the overall energy of the event.

VIP Tires and Service

Explore the website

VIP is a leading, family owned tire and service provider in New England. Our challenge was to work with them to create an informative, welcoming website that invites customers to do business with the best tire and service purchasing experience in the industry.

We developed a sophisticated, fully responsive eCommerce website that combines the content management ease of WordPress with the powerful Magento eCommerce platform. Since our overall goal was to help make searching for tires as painless as possible, we created “My Garage,” a feature that stores tire and vehicle search history data. Users can quickly access options for their vehicle with a single click.

We optimized the VIP tire catalog search, service scheduling, and helped them develop a communications strategy to share educational resources and relevant product/service deals with their customers.

AgaMatrix

Explore the website

AgaMatrix designs and manufactures cutting-edge, cost-effective diabetes management tools. They also offer app connectivity and a cloud platform. One of their biggest goals when they came to us was to create an eCommerce store so they could break into the B2C market.

Their bread and butter is B2B, so the new website needed to be designed to translate their extensive B2B experience into a consumer-friendly shop. We demonstrated their product innovation with explanatory photo and video assets, in addition to a robust blog and resource center to help audiences manage their health and easily engage with available products and services. We developed a user-friendly eCommerce platform designed to tailor the browsing experience to support two different users: individual consumers seeking medical equipment and medical labs purchasing bulk diabetes supplies.

Zone Coverage

Explore the website

Since 2014, Zone Coverage has been providing team coverage and analysis for passionate Minnesota sports fans; they produce podcasts, videos, articles, discounted tickets, and sports memorabilia at a monthly membership price.

Their new website combines WordPress and WooCommerce to provide a foundation for their custom member profiles and subscriptions. We also worked with Sportradar to leverage their API for scores, stats, and team rosters. The custom membership portal gives users the ability to sign up for three different membership tiers: free, monthly, or annual (each option with its own paywall solution). Each member receives a tailored user experience that enables them to customize favorites and filter content based on favorite teams.

Vital Design

Explore our website

We’re a digital marketing agency servicing both B2B and B2C businesses with enterprise-quality digital solutions. Our people, expertise, and approach make us a unique partner as both a traditional agency and a strategic marketing consultancy.

Our website needed to tell this story through case studies and thought leadership with a strong focus on our people; we have a talented group of thought leaders, industry stalwarts, up-and-comers, and everything in between. When you hire Vital, we become an extension of your team. To showcase this, our people are front and center with robust biographies, creative photography (shot by our in-house creative team), and a general approachability to highlight what working with us is REALLY like.

Park Street School

Explore the website

Park Street School is a Christian preschool and elementary school located in the heart of Boston.

Their goal was to develop a new site that would attract new prospects and act as a hub for enrolled students and their families. Vital worked hard to properly showcase the school by creating a thoughtful and effective site that highlights all the incredible benefits of downtown Boston.

“We are so excited about our new website,” said Kim Twitchell, Director of Communications at Park Street School. “Vital is an amazing company to partner with, and we’re so glad to share this success with them!”

The new site features extensive information about the school and their approach, the ability to book tours online, an interactive calendar, and some very adorable Park Street School students.

UConn Foundation

Explore the website

The UConn Foundation acts as the University of Connecticut’s primary source of fundraising by providing programming and services for alumni and supporters. The private gifts and financial resources support the university’s mission and enhance teaching, research, and public services.

The new UConn Foundation site combined their old giving platform, alumni resource site, and alumni stories/blog platform. In order to optimize donations and event management, they needed a fully integrated website stack including WooCommerce, Aventri, MailChimp, Mandril, and custom BBCRM database syncs. Vital designed and developed this powerhouse website with a strong focus on improving user experience and an emphasis on improving and encouraging the “giving” process.

We’re gifted with an excellent team of talented, hardworking individuals who make these incredible results happen year after year. To each of our amazing clients: Congratulations. We hope you’re smiling and celebrating along with us. Cheers!
