A key facet of Vital’s web development offering is our continued support of the websites we produce for our clients. Our support developers are not relegated to small bug fixes 100% of their day. You will be called in to help on any of our multiple, large scale builds as needed.. As a Support Developer you’ll need to be quick on your feet, not easily rattled by the pressure of site outages, bug fixes, and other web centric emergencies that can pop up from time to time.

This is a junior role with plenty of room to grow, and experience growth and mentorship with our in-house team of senior developers. The minimum prerequisites are 1-2 years of development experience with a strong understanding of server side maintenance and development. We need motivated, self-reliant people that can think on their feet while problem solving an array of issues. The work is fast paced but carefully managed by our stellar accounts team. Communication skills are a must as you will find yourself handling delicate situations with management and clients alike.

– Responsible for maintaining client success/happiness
– Implement client solutions i.e. multi-platform, omnichannel, ecommerce/POS, LMS
– Perform monthly maintenance
– Run performance reports/audits
– Handle bug fixes/troubleshooting (and be on-call for emergencies)
– ADA compliance remediation
– Support the Director of Maintenance, Hosting and Ops
– Support website launches
– Evaluate bug fix cost estimates
– Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs

Skills & Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent qualification
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field is preferred
– A minimum of 1-2 years experience in server-side maintenance
– Strong understanding of server maintenance
– Strong knowledge of the WordPress CMS and hosting requirements
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
