This strong community bank was well known for their small business and personal banking client base. Innovative and solution-minded, they saw an opportunity to grow their financial support through digital banking and global aspirations. They saw a way to better serve their existing personal and business banking relationships by pioneering FinTech solutions and leveraging digital currencies, like Bitcoin. So, they approached us for a redesigned and fully optimized website to properly showcase their expanded service offerings and new brand identity
The old website had a hyper-local feel with a traditional green and white color scheme and community-focused content. The redesign needed to show that even though BankProv is one of the oldest banks in the country, their mission is to embrace new technologies in FinTech and digital currency to better serve their customers. Applying the boldness of technology-based websites, we introduced a sleek, cutting-edge look that properly conveys their heightened digital capabilities. We wanted to be really forward thinking. How could we best prepare them for global online expansion? This inspired us to create a visual niche; we utilized motion graphics with moving globes and nodes that have an ethereal, futuristic feel. The homepage truly became a showpiece to set the tone for their rebrand.
Even though BankProv was transitioning from a branch-based model to a global online strategy, they were also sharply focused on continuing to serve their current clientele. The new look and feel also emphasizes a strong people focus, showing the faces of the professionals who are behind the bank. By expanding their company and leadership pages, we reaffirmed their values of strong community relations and a focus on sponsorship. We balanced the new modern elements by retaining strong people-first imagery on the personal and business banking pages.
The site needed to be user-friendly for both the digital banker and the small business banker, so we spent a lot of time site mapping and testing the user experience. Given the drastic aesthetic difference, we wanted to make sure that the new site was designed to welcome and serve both existing and future clients. There are a lot of portals, investor areas, and company content, so we created a place to select one of the three business models: business, personal, or digital banking. This top navigation allows each user to self-identify, which makes the whole website experience feel very customized.
The old website was on Banno, an outdated content management system (CMS), which was a real pain point for them. We introduced WordPress, and its intuitive backend design has been instrumental, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. BankProv went from calling their hosting provider to make the simplest content updates to empowering their own in-house designer to build new pages and add graphics. On the new site, they are able to release timely messaging and communications to their audience. We worked closely with them throughout the entire website build, helping them create a resource center, connecting their email system, and Google Analytics, creating a solid digital marketing foundation for their team.
A strong mobile experience is always a top priority. Here, we wanted to push beyond just stacking and shrinking sections to fit on mobile devices. Instead, smaller screens get a curated experience with menus, sliders, and fonts, all carefully optimized for maximum readability on the go.
