Scope

Overview
University of San Diego’s (USD) division of Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) offers students a variety of certificate programs and courses across business, education, technology, engineering, healthcare and other industries. As a leader in higher and continuing education, USD PCE wasn’t new to Vital — in fact, they’ve been a client for years. But it was time for a new website that would showcase their brand and course offerings while attracting prospective students with a sophisticated, easy-to-use design.

A New Platform Perfect for Customization.
USD PCE’s website was built on a platform that severely limited their digital marketing strategy and SEO optimization — which is a big problem in today’s world where the right content management system can make or break a higher ed institution’s ability to market effectively. Our solution? We used the USD online degree website (which we had designed) as a jumping off point to create a fully customizable platform on WordPress.

Successful Integration? Check.
We shifted the entire site over to WordPress and built a custom integration that allowed us to move USD’s course information from the old platform to the new one without missing a beat. The end result is a site that’s much more accessible and user-friendly.

A Website Launch With Nothing But Smooth Sailing
We take a very strategic, methodical approach when launching a new site. Bugs and issues may pop up, but that’s normal — and expected. In this case during the post-launch phase, our team successfully handled 15 tickets (that’s digital marketing speak for saying some issues only became apparent once the site was pushed live.)
Our team thoroughly tested everything and resolved all 15 tickets without a hitch. In fact, the client kept telling us they were pleasantly surprised by the smooth launch and transition. And as an added bonus, USD’s website support calls decreased immediately after the lunch, which is proof that the site is more intuitive and easier to use.
