Scope

Overview

Texture Plus is a North Carolina-based company that specializes in top-quality faux wall panels. A longtime Vital digital marketing client, they needed an updated eCommerce site that could keep pace with their growing business and meet the demand resulting from successful lead generation.

New Platform, Same Quality Products

Our goal was to convert the client’s outdated Magento 1 platform to an updated Magento 2 with minimal disruption to service. We also wanted to make sure the client could make their own updates as needed without relying on the Vital team (although we’re always just a few clicks away).

Proving the Value of an Upgrade

Why mess with a good thing? The Texture Plus site didn’t need any major content updates, but we made a strong case for upgrading to Magento 2 to improve eCommerce functionality. Once we showed them the power of the next-level platform and how it could help them better satisfy customer demand, Texture Plus was 100% onboard.

Behind the Scenes

The entire Texture Plus site was duplicated to maintain the exact content, look, and feel that was currently working so well. All existing functionality from M1 was migrated to M2 with a few functionality improvements and updates. Plugins were also purchased and installed that were compatible with M2 and deprecated in M1.

All product details, customer data, order and shipment details, etc. were imported from M1 to M2 to avoid any friction with valued customers.
